I was on my way home from work listening to Lakers Nation and Locked on Lakers. They were talking about how the Lakers did nothing on Day 2 of free agency and discussed that we were still waiting for news if DeAndre Ayton will sign with us. When I arrived home, news just dropped that the Lakers are signing DeAndre Ayton. It was kind of expected, but not totally guaranteed, when he was wearing an LA hat in a recent IG post. Of course he knows what he’s hinting at with all the commotion going among Laker fans.

I’m excited, but not confident. I remember when Dwight Howard signed with us for the first time. I was super confident that we’d immediately win multiple titles when we got him. But everybody knows how that turned out. This signing with Ayton isn’t the best news, but it’s really good news. And it just brings a sense of optimism now, which is always nice to have.
