Happy birthday to Pau Gasol! It was yesterday I think. He will always be a beloved figure in the Lakers community. I remember on Locked on Lakers, they talked about how nice he was. Just simple things like when he was sitting down one time, and saw a person passing by, he tucked his feet in so that the person passing by would have more space to pass.

I was interested in free agent Chris Paul news. He hinted in an interview that he’ll only play for one more year. I listened to Clippers and Suns podcasts and they both would love to have him back. Of course he did so much for their franchises. He really changed the culture and turned them into winners. I think the Lakers won’t sign him though. It would be nice to get him though. I’m still not over the David Stern veto. Until now, I haven’t accepted it.

It was announced that Ayton will wear #5. I immediately thought of Robert Horry, thinking they might retire it one day. Like how they did with Michael Cooper’s number. It wasn’t retired as fast as Kobe’s or Shaq’s, but it eventually was after he was inducted to the hall of fame. Then, I totally forgot that even Cam Reddish wore #5. So probably not. Who knows? Maybe Ayton’s #5 will be retired one day.
